3 months agoIce Cats,
It’s been a tough 48 hours for our extended hockey family. The unfortunate news of Saturday night has left us feeling every emotion there is. I have unfortunately lived through this to many times and any words I might have, won’t take that hurt away.
But, what we all need now is each other. Now is not the time to go it alone. We are all stronger together.
For these reasons we will not be canceling practice today. I completely understand, if anyone decides to not skate tonight. But please know practice is a safe space for us to be together. To learn , play, work hard and have fun without the distractions of the world. To channel our anger, sadness and frustration into something positive.
Please reach out to any of your coaches if you need something.
See you at Practice

3 months agoFew notes from last weeks scrimmage and out upcoming games
1. Puck control at this level is Key.
2.Running around after the puck or players will just make you tired and pull you out of position.
3.Take your time with the puck find the open person and make a good pass. I am a big fan of regrouping anywhere on the ice.
2.Being Quick has nothing todo with how fast you are. Quickness to the puck or playing with a sense of urgency is what wins the little battles for loose pucks. I don't care how fast you skate but you have to move your feet and get to every loose puck.
3. be confident in your skills! You are all great hockey players! but you don't all believe it!! Trust your self and what you can do! if you make a mistake, shake it off, learn from it and get back out there!!
Lastly Im giving you weekly homework!!! Please fill out the following weekly player feed back before practice on Monday each week. It should only take about 10 mins todo, and is a opportunity for your to reflect on what went well and what we could have don't better.

4 months agoMorning!
Hope everyone is have a good first week back at School!
A few notes from last practice:
1. Do not be afraid to try and fail! If you are working hard towards a skill you are not confidant in and you don't get it right the first time thats ok!
2. If you don't know or are confused about what we are doing ask.
3. Have fun!!! you can work hard, be a serious hockey player and have fun at the same time.
Im glad we working on shooting. I think you all got better even in a short period of time.
I put together some videos on shooting,
