Mini Mites
The Mini Mite program is your first step into DYHA and youth hockey. Our highly regarded Mini Mite program is designed for 5 year-olds, both in Kindergarten and in Pre-K, who have already taken their first strides on the skating rink and now want to move to the next level, put on the hockey pads and learn the fundamentals of being a hockey player! Our emphasis is on skating fundamentals and fun!
The Mini Mite sessions are led by DYHA Coaches. Our coaches have many years of coaching experience and will teach your player the basics of skating and ice hockey skills by utilizing drills and small area games in a fun but challenging environment.
We are fortunate to have many top former players, male and female, amongst our parents, and we encourage parents to get on the ice and be a part of their young player's hockey development.
DHYA’s Mini Mite program will help your player master the basics of skating and stick skills which are critical to their enjoyment and success in the game in the years to come.
Once your player participates in the Mini Mite program, they are a DYHA member and gain priority registration status for our Mighty Mite and Mite House programs, which are regularly sold out, and are guaranteed a tryout spot for our travel teams in the coming years.
