A regularly scheduled board meeting of DYHA took place on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:45pm at Stamford Twin Rinks. Present board members were Art Flynn, Buzz Olsen, Pat Mullin, Lisa McCarthy, Tom Raymond, Mary Jo Dyer, Dawn Bryson, Jeff Eccleston, David Hill, Mike Kadish, John Massey, Dave Kreppein and Gigi Williams.
President’s Remarks
Mike Kadish was welcomed to the board as Legal Counsel and SafeSport Coordinator, and was thanked for offering up his time to the association.
State Tournaments commence shortly – Mites, Bantams and Girls will play the first weekend.
The DYHA Night at the Soundtigers netted $1465 for Friends of DYHA. A successful evening, Lisa McCarthy was thanked for putting this together.
The Biggs Scholarship for DHS Seniors will again be supported by Friends of DYHA, with the approval of the board.
Registrar
An update was given on the waitlist (currently open) and Returning Player registration, which will take place March 2 – March 15, 2015.
Girls Travel
Following a period of discussion and review, the motion to extend the CT Ice Cats program to all levels from U-8 to U-19 was put to the board for approval and was unanimously approved. An announcement will be sent to all players and will be posted on the website.
Scheduling
Spring Tryout dates confirmed, and will be announced.
CHC Representative
An update of items discussed at the monthly CHC meeting was presented.
Nominating
Dave Kreppein and Gigi Williams presented the candidates for the role of House Co-Director and Secretary and Equipment. Questions were asked and answered, and at the conclusion thereof, with a quorum present, the recommended candidates were put to the board for approval:
Keith Cataldo was nominated for the role of House Co-DIrector
Approved – Keith Cataldo will assume his role effective March 16, 2015.
Andrew Reardon was nominated for the role of Secretary and Equipment
Approved – Andrew Reardon will be presented on the slate for Voting Member approval in June 2015 as per the by-laws at the conclusion of his predecessor’s term.
